Last week, Unizo Mechelen organized this “Speed Dating Networking Event for Dummies & Pros” at Officenter Mechelen. The feedback was very positive!
56 entrepreneurs from various sectors attended the event, seized the opportunity to expand their networks in a single evening, and enjoyed the inspiration and interaction. It wasn’t just about exchanging business cards. It was an evening of sharing, pitching, learning how to pitch, and, above all, storytelling.
The evening began with three inspiring stories, each from a local entrepreneur, who shared their experiences with us about the challenges of networking, as well as some wonderful success stories. We received tips and tricks and, above all: “be bold, take action, and stay true to yourself.”
After 27 rounds of 1-minute pitches with the person across from you, it was time to sit down for a delicious pasta buffet, provided by the bistro at Officenter Mechelen. It was a perfect transition from formal to informal networking—and a perfect opportunity to reconnect with interesting contacts and get to know them better.
This Speeddate Netwerk event at Officenter in Mechelen proved that networking is for everyone. Whether you’re a startup that isn’t used to striking up conversations or an experienced entrepreneur looking for new opportunities, the event was accessible and efficient.
